Things I've Learned So Far

Ten things I've learned about blogging:

1. Dissent is good. Don't delete negative comments.

2. Change is good. Constantly work to improve your online presence.

3. People may not tell you what they don't like, but the comments will pour in when they find something they do like. More of that.

4. Blog what feels right. There is no template.

5. Serial blogging can be a pain in the ass for the blogger, but it can also be a lot of fun. Be prepared for the story to go longer than you ever thought possible. Way longer.

6. Pictures, links and honesty: the three keys to a good weblog. Pictures are optional. Hey, anyone wants to teach me (again!) on the links thingy? Huhu..

7. Be nice to to people online.

8. Don't expect everyone to be nice back.

9. Answer your e-mails. (If I haven't answered yours, now would be a good time to remind me).

10. Appreciate the fact that even one other person is reading. An audience should be valued.
